400 hours
Reese and I celebrating our 400 hours spent together! Just kidding... we don't know how many hours. We wish we knew. As of today we are using the "clock in- clock out" system. This weekend he watched 2 chick flicks with me while I was sick, brought me two dozen white roses, took me out to dinner (my favorite type of dinner too...) and let me play my favorite video game on his phone for an hour. THAT is what I call a good boyfriend!
oreo-stuffed chocolate chip cookies.... YES
This recipe is EASY! Cookie Dough and Oreos. Cover the Oreo in cookie dough and bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Soooooooo GOOD! :)

outer banks vacation!
This past Christmas our parents gave my brothers and I a trip to the Outer Banks, North Carolina! So basically this trip has been the only thing keeping me going for 6 months. I have to admit that when we heard we were going to North Carolina for our summer vacation my brothers and my reactions were along the lines of "Really, mom?" But after seeing the sweet beach house online and learning more about the string of islands off the coast of North Carolina, our excitement for the trip lifted dramatically!

yeah I just found this and I never really finished it... but the rest of the trip was magical.
Probably the best thing about this vacation was the fact that my cousins and grandparents would be coming along. Our flight left Vegas around 4:30 and we landed in Norfolk, Virginia at 10:00 and we spent the night in a hotel. The next morning we all woke up really early and we were all collectively delirious. The drive to our beach house was 2 hours from the hotel, but very enjoyable! There were so many trees and plants along the side of the road it was so different than what I am used to!

We crossed a really long bridge that took us to the island and once we got there we had a few hours until we could check into our beach house. On a whim we decided to hangout at the beach until check-in time came. As we were walking onto the beach Tara and I found ourselves in a not-so-ideal situation, I was walking in jeans and a shirt down onto the beach in 90 degree weather and humidity and tara was wearing a black dress with leggings! Needless to say I got to the beach and turned into a tomato and my hair permed itself so Tara and I gladly volunteered to go to the grocery store and help get food for the week. That turned out to be and adventure in itself, getting all the food for 20 people for a week was kind of comical due to the number of baskets this task required! Interesting state law in North Carolina "No beer or alcohol sold on Sunday's before noon". Shucks! hahaha!

blonde moments
There are times when I do something really stupid and I can't even begin to believe that I am almost 20 years old....... for example......
-leaving my wallet on the roof of my car, driving away and forgetting about it, and not realizing it until I was at the parking garage at SLC Int'l.
-spilling a hot liquid candle all over the fridge, myself, and the floor-watching the wax harden, and scraping each square inch away with my student id card.
-putting my detergent on the top of the washing machine, hearing a crash, and walking into the laundry room to a lake of green soap. Followed by a long session of salvaging it via the ice cream scooper. Then having the exact same thing happen again about a week later.
-thinking that I lost my wallet (again) and panicking. Dragging my poor boyfriend with me up to campus late at night to try and find it, emailing my teacher, checking the lost and found, only to find that little sweetheart tucked in between the pages of my notebook the next morning.

The latter is probably the most blonde. I'm sure there will be more to come.

1280 miles later...
You know what's weird... Reese and I have absolutely epic weekends... every single weekend. It kind of puts a little pressure on us to make each weekend better than the one before, so we decided to go to Disneyland this weekend! WHAT!?!? yes. we did. Are you ready for this next fact? We did it on 5 hours of sleep. Anaheim CA is exactly 4 hours and 9 minutes away from my house (according to Mapquest...) So we left my house in vegas around 5:20 and drove all the way there that morning! Did I mention that Reese's voice is exceptionally low for the first 2 hours he is awake? You have to hear it to believe it.
We pretty much did everything we wanted to do in Disneyland and California Adventure... however we did have some favorites:
Indiana Jones (this ride is like leftovers... its even better the second time)
Pirates of the Caribbean (we mostly like this one because its really long, so when your legs hurt...this is your best option)
Soarin over California (Reese thinks that the scents come from little vents in the chairs, but really it comes from the trees)
A Bugs Life 3D movie (yes this isn't a ride, but since I know when the special effects strike I loved watching Reese react bahahah! good times)
SO this day was really long and at the end of the day we were ready to hightail it back to vegas! We didn't anticipate a few things... like starting out going the wrong direction on the freeway, or pulling up to not 1 but 2 broken gas pumps, and being deliriously tired and exhausted behind the wheel. If you know anything about being a donkey on the edge, that would sum up the drive home. I have to admit, I was completely out of it the last hour and Reese did an exceptional job keeping himself awake. I did wake up a couple times to make sure he was okay, there were some pretty interesting moments. Still, one of the best days of my life with my favorite person in the whole world.

ode to oats
This year I have come to realize that that Oatmeal is seriously the best food for a college kid-for so many reasons:
1) It will NEVER go bad, if you forget that it exists and it sits in your cupboard for 4 months, you can STILL EAT IT!! How great is that!?
2) It is CHEAP. One of those huge barrels will last you forever and its only a few bucks.
3) You can make it as fancy as you want and you can add almost anything to it and it still tastes good.
4) Its nutritional. For a college kid, that is a really big deal.
5) Its really fast to make, pop that stuff in the micro for a couple minutes and it is DONE
6) You can eat it for pretty much any meal and its not weird.
Therefore, I eat it everyday.
